Free COGS Spreadsheet Template for E-commerce (Google Sheets)

Every seller needs one sheet that answers "what does each product actually cost me, and what do I keep?" This template keeps it to the five columns that matter, per SKU — and unlike a plain spreadsheet, it can feed a live dashboard that computes your margins for you.

Copy it into your own Google account, put your real numbers in, and it's yours forever — no signup needed. Connect it to Dash Captain (read-only) and the margin maths runs itself.

Profit & COGS tracker

Copies straight into your Google account. Yours forever, no signup.

What it tracks

SKU
Your product identifier — one row per SKU.
Product
A human name so the dashboard reads well.
Unit cost
Landed cost per unit: product + freight + fees you attribute per unit.
Selling price
Your current price per unit.
Units sold / month
Rough monthly volume — powers profit and ranking.

Then it comes alive

Connect your copy to Dash Captain (read-only, only the files you pick) and these tiles run live — the Captain watches them like any other source:

  • Profit & COGS Pulse Blended margin, monthly profit and revenue across every SKU.
  • Margin by Product Every SKU ranked by monthly profit, with cost, price and margin.

Live connection is rolling out through early access — the sheet already works on its own today.

Frequently asked questions

Is the template really free?

Yes — the copy link gives you the sheet outright, no signup. Connecting it to a live dashboard is what Dash Captain adds.

Can I add rows or reorder columns?

Add as many rows as you like, and columns are matched by their header text, so even reordering them is safe. The one rule: keep the header row and the hidden template tab intact.

What happens if I make a mess of a row?

Nothing silent: a row with a broken number is skipped and reported on the dashboard as "rows needing attention", so you always know what was read.
